Who can enter the Acropolis for FREE?
To get free entry, visitors must show proof (ID, passport, certificate, etc.) depending on the category.
🎓 Students & Youth
- Children and young people under 25 from EU countries
- Children under 18 from non-EU countries
- Students (over 25) in evening schools, second-chance schools, or vocational schools (EU/EEA only)
- Escorting teachers during school visits (EU/EEA)
- Students of Tourist Guide Schools of the Greek Ministry of Tourism
👨👩👧👦 Families
- Parents of large families (Greek only), until the youngest child turns 25
- Parents of three-child families (Greek only), until the third child turns 25
- Single parents (Greek only), until the youngest child turns 25
- Children with disabilities — no age limit applies

- People receiving Social Solidarity Income (KEA) and their dependents
- People with disabilities (67% or more) and one escort
- Greek unemployed citizens (with valid unemployment card)

- Licensed tour guides in Greece
- Journalists with valid ID
- ICOM/ICOMOS members (museum/monuments organizations)
- Historians, archaeologists, architects, conservators, museum studies grads (Greece/EU/EEA)
- Teachers (active or retired) in Greece
- Scientists with permission to study or photograph antiquities
- Members of the Chamber of Fine Arts of Greece
- Art historians with valid membership card
- Members of Friends of Museums/Sites societies (run by Ministry of Culture)
- Police officers in the Department of Cultural Heritage
